Welcome to our ongoing 2-hour monthly Psychology-Yoga fusion session for Psychologists where we'll learn techniques for working sustainably while in service to others. Sessions are in person, also available on zoom and recorded for easy access:
Sessions include;
Group and individual check-in: a tuning-in process to establish where you are across the PEMS (physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual) and determine your needs for the session
Cultivating awareness: Effects of stress, burnout risk, vicarious trauma, and other related impacts on the body and mind in the context of providing a psychological service
Yoga exploration: Discovering various aspects of Yoga for sustaining energy, clarity, and wellbeing We practice Asana (poses), Pranayama( breath), and meditaitons.
Deep Dive and Integration: Exploring Yoga as a process tool for cultivating awareness enriching purpose and embodying self care whilst in psychological service. Developing the ability to distinguish neuroception ( descerning real or perceived threat), interoception ( how do I feel and what action to take ) and the relationships to vicarious trauma, the somatisation of transference, countertransference, understanding empathy and establishing boundaries.
