About this event

Landcare Southern Highlands invites you to a tour through selected gardens on Mt. Gibraltar, designed to support our local wildlife. Set for the 21st of May, from 10 am to 12:30 pm, this tour offers more than a glimpse into beautiful landscapes—it clearly underscores the crucial role our gardens play as vital sanctuaries for our native birds and animals.

In a time when urban expansion threatens the natural habitats of our wildlife, the importance of cultivating wildlife-friendly gardens has become paramount. Led by expert ecologist Dr. Beth Mott, you'll learn about the variety of wonderful animals, many of whom are nocturnal, that make Mt. Gibraltar their home - including the magnificent Greater Glider, the world's largest flying marsupial!

Why join this tour? It's an opportunity to meet individuals who share your passion, to exchange insights, and to partake in a united effort to enhance our area's biodiversity. Each garden we explore helps individually, and by working together, the benefits are multiplied - we can extend corridors and stepping stones, which provide food and homes for our wildlife.

For ease of access, we’ll be providing transport via a small bus, ensuring a comfortable and communal journey for all participants.

Spaces are limited. Secure your spot today and let’s learn that by gardening together, we can make a real difference for our unique wildlife.

Bus will leave from Bowral Swimming Pool carpark.

Landcare NSW and the NSW Biodiversity Conservation Trust are working together to raise awareness and support private land conservation efforts across the state.
