`Accessible Arts Practice

with Arts Access Victoria - Making it in Merri-bek 2024


Accessible Arts Practice is designed for creative practitioners working with Deaf and Disabled collaborators, participants and audiences. It is a practical workshop led by highly experienced Deaf and Disabled creative practitioners in engaged in performing and visual arts. This session will be presented on zoom with Auslan interpreting.

Workshop components will include:

· an overview of Deaf and Disabled people and the creative industries

· collaborating with Deaf and Disabled creatives

· effective inclusion of Deaf and Disabled people in events and projects

· attracting Deaf and Disabled audiences


Presenters:

Janice Florence (she/her) - Artistic Director and Co-Founder of Weave Movement Theatre

Dr. Margaret Mayhew (she/her/they/them) - Specialist Projects Associate at Arts Access Victoria, independent queer visual artist and performer living with chronic pain
