The LSAA (Lightweight Structures Association of Australasia) is working closely with Swinburne University, the University of Melbourne and RMIT to bring you an inspirational and informative two-day Conference about Lightweight Architectural Structures.

Our Theme is “Connecting to Tomorrow” so we will be covering emerging technologies as well as engaging with students and future design trends.

Our Industry leading Design Awards will showcase completed projects during the past two years. We will also be launching an Inaugural Student Design Award in this field.

What is the Theme of the Conference?

The theme “Connecting to Tomorrow” seeks to encompass all the connections that will make up tomorrow’s lightweight structures fields – connections to technology, to environment and to each other.

Will we see some new technology at Swinburne?

Yes, aside from some presentations, we plan to have a tour of some of the advanced laboratories including robotics and design tools.

When will the Winners of the Design Awards be revealed?

The entries will be displayed during the Conference Dinner on Thursday night and the winners will be announced for the different categories.

The Lightweight Structures Association is a Not for Profit, inter-disciplinary group of persons involved in the field of lightweight structures. Operating primarily in Australia and New Zealand our basic aim is to promote the proper application of lightweight structures, their design, fabrication, construction and materials and to encourage the development of these and other aspects essential to lightweight structures.

We normally hold two day conferences and our Design Awards every two years.
