Clarion is an eco-poetic suite of words and images written and created by Australian artist and poet Jenny Pollak. The poetry speaks in the voice of a woman as she negotiates her relationship with a landscape in crisis.
This collection weaves word and image in striking and sensitive ways. Both the poetry and the photography celebrate and commemorate a chorus of beloved casuarinas before the sea stole their voice and the sand buried their song. Jenny Pollak sings these trees back into existence, steering us through the debris and devastation, so that in her wake, we can together fall ‘in love with the bent and uprooted’. Sarah Rice
