About this event

Join a local Bininj (Aboriginal) ranger on this easy, quiet walk through open woodland habitat. Kungardun is a nature-lover's paradise, so remember to bring your binoculars to spot kaldurrk (blue-winged kookaburras), rakul (partridge pigeon) and kornobolo (agile wallabies)! For plant enthusiasts, you'll also notice several species of eucalypts, bloodwoods, sand palms and liniment trees like turkey bush.

Kakadu National Park is a living cultural landscape. It has been home to Aboriginal people for more than 65,000 years.

A place of immense biodiversity, Kakadu is home to 2,000 plant species, around one-third of all Australian bird species and about one-fifth of all Australian mammals.

The park is listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List for both its natural and cultural values.
