Jobs Skills & Employment Pathways Program
Following on from the successful 2023 Jobs Skills & Employment Pathways forum, the Business Chambers of Northwest Sydney are bringing stakeholders together again for a full day working forum.
Th Chambers are the logical nexus between businesses needing staff, the training organisations who have people that need to work, and individuals who want to work.
The goal of the program is to create easy to access, and productive pathways to employment, work experience, internships and apprenticeships for the worker, and a simple way to find local staff/trainees for the employers (and support programs, such as work experience, in the region).
A key issue for all businesses in the Region is the challenging jobs and employment market.
SHBC in collaboration with THSC as part of our Alliance, and other Chambers across Northwest Sydney will host the Jobs Forum on 1st May, bringing together all the stakeholders who need to be involved in developing a practical and cohesive approach to improving the current and future job skills and employment pathways.
About the Event:
The Chambers of North-western and Hawkesbury regions have been each working on similar youth/job pathway activities, and have agreed to work collaboratively together on a cross-Chamber strategic approach to the challenge of bridging the employment and jobs/skills gaps that all of our members and business communities are facing, and thereby multiply our resources and impact.
Chamber leaders are inviting educational institutions, Apprenticeships, Recruitment, and other employment stakeholders to meet and get involved in the program and solution planning process.
The forum brings together all the stakeholders who need to be involved in developing a practical and cohesive approach to improving the current and future job skills and employment pathways.
This forum is building on from the successful 1st Jobs Forum event held in October 2023.
Overarching goals for the program and the 2024 forum on May 1st:
1. Identify “The Gaps” in the employment journey map for employees and businesses
2. Bridge “the gaps” to achieve local sustainable, skilled workforces
3. Fast track solutions to workforce shortages and business growth
