No matter the size of your patch, creating a resilient yet beautiful native garden and a haven for native fauna is achievable!

Looking for WA natives for your small garden, patio or balcony? Kings Park horticulturalist, Maddy, will highlight some sensational species suitable for your growing space. Maddy will share tips and tricks for keeping potted natives and small spaces looking brilliant all year-round, including watering, position selection, pruning and fertilising.

Take home a list of Kings Park favourite small natives, including Eucalypts, all found in the WA Botanic Garden. This event will enable you to bring the joy of Western Australian plants to any size home.


What to Expect

Length- 1 hour presentation with 30 minute Q&A

Event activities will start on time, but if you are running late, you may still join.

Location- Inside, Binjar Room

Requirements- Nothing needed

Adult learning space- guests are expected to turn off phones, be respectful to the educator and exit discreetly when needed. This event is unlikely to be suitable for children.

Accessibility- This event will be mostly sitting with some light movement. Disabled parking is available at front of Centre, rooms are located on multiple levels via a ramp, toilets are available within the venue. Directions to centre

We encourage attendees to use public transport, there is a convenient bus stop 2 minutes walking distance from the Centre available on multiple routes.

The Centre is located at 555 Leach Highway, Winthrop in the Piney Lakes reserve. To reach us, if heading westbound, take the first left after Murdoch Drive on Leach Highway. If coming from the Fremantle area, continue on Leach Hwy across Murdoch Drive and use the designated U-turn just after the lights to move to the westbound lanes. Go back through the lights at Murdoch Drive and take the first left. Please park in the signed public carpark.
