About this event

  • 1 hour

Growing food (and gardening in general) has lots of benefits; reducing waste from packaging, cutting emissions from food transportation and refrigeration, and improving physical and mental well-being. Did you know that increasing the plant-based portion of our diet is one of the most effective actions we can take as individuals to reduce our carbon emissions?!

Young people aged 18 - 25 are invited to come along to hear from Casey Lister who will discuss growing from seed, how to best prep your growing space, selecting healthy seedlings from nurseries, and choosing good starter veggies! Take some free seeds home to get started! The Piney Lakes Community Garden will also be open, so pop down to have a look for some inspiration.
