About this event

Would you like to try Wheelchair Racing?

Then these beginner sessions are just for you.

They are designed to teach you the skills needed to participate in the very first 4km Wheelchair Race at this years Gold Coast Marathon.

The exciting new event offers a pathway for junior and beginner wheelchair racers who would like to work up to participating in the 10km Wheelchair Rcae or the Wheelchair Marathon.

These sessions will commence May 18 and will be run through until the Gold Coast Marathon weekend on July 6-7. You need to book your FREE ticket for each week you will be attending (this is due to the number of wheelchairs available)

Frequently asked questions

How old do I have to be for these sessions?

These sessions are suitable for children from 6 years and up through to adults of all ages.

Do I have to use a wheelchair to attend these sessions?

Anyone with a physical disability affecting the lower limbs can attend these sessions.

How long will the sessions go for?

These sessions will approximately run from 9am-10am depending on each individual. Please arrive 10 minutes before each session.

What do I need to Bring?

Please bring a helmet, water and sunscreen. All racing wheelchairs will be provided

I don't have a racing wheelchair, can I join the sessions?

Yes you can. We have racing wheelchairs available for participants to use.
