About this event

  • 1 hour 30 minutes

Let Mayu Kataoka introduce you to the Japanese mindfulness practice of forest bathing (shinrin-yoku) and the concept of ‘wabi-sabi,’ finding beauty in imperfection. Take an immersive walk in our local natural environment to improve your psychological and physical well-being as you seek to achieve inner stillness amongst the trees.

Trees radiate balance, strength and resilience but are also imperfect. Slow down and learn different practices to connect with nature and find calmness.

Rest. Reset. Reconnect. Revitalise.

Note this session is suitable for adults only. The bushwalking track is uneven and we will be sitting on the ground at times. Bring water, wear suitable nonslip shoes and a hat.

Meet at Chatswood Scout Hall, park on Kooba Avenue or drive down the driveway at 11 Kooba Avenue, Chatswood West.

Note: Due to limited capacity, this event is reserved for Willoughby Council residents. If you aren't a resident, you can email env.educators@willoughby.nsw.gov.au to be added on the waitlist, and notified if last minute spots become available.
