About this event

  • 2 hours

Are you a FIFO family in Perth, wanting to meet others who get what it’s like to live the crazy FIFO life?

This free event is your opportunity to connect and have a cuppa with other local FIFO Families who ‘get it’, where you can begin to overcome the loneliness and isolation that too often comes with FIFO rosters and being a FIFO partner.

Bonus – you get an outing on a Saturday morning, where the kids are contained (fully-fenced play area), you’re inside if it rains and there are lots of lovely cafes and coffee shops nearby

Act Now! Yes tickets are free but you must sign up to attend through Eventbrite, as numbers for the venue are capped and we don’t want you to miss out.

* Please select 1 ticket for every member of the family attending *

* Children must have their own ticket *

Will there be more events? Absolutely! There are many FIFO Family Project meet-ups planned across Perth for the rest of 2024. Join our Facebook group to stay updated on the next meet-ups and other activities: https://www.facebook.com/groups/thefifofamilyproject

Thank you! We want to say a big thank-you to our venue sponsor for this event – Meerilinga. We couldn’t host this event indoors without your generous support.

Frequently asked questions

My partner is home on R&R, can they come too?

Absolutely! Our meet-ups are designed for the entire FIFO family, including partners who are home on R&R. We encourage you to bring your partner along to connect with other FIFO families too.

Can I bring my kids?

Yes, children are more than welcome! We understand that FIFO families often juggle work and parenting, so our meet-ups are designed to be family-friendly. We host events in indoor venues with fully-fenced play areas, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for kids of all ages.

Will there be a facilitated creche for my kids?

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide childcare at the meet-ups, so you are fully responsible for the safety and supervision of your children during these events.

Organized by

Hi, I’m Vicky, founder of The FIFO Family Project (or TFFP for short). As an ex-FIFO worker myself, now mum to 2 young kids and wife to FIFO hubby, I wanted to find a way for FIFO families to connect and support each other, through the ups and downs of FIFO life. There are lots of social and mental health support initiatives for the FIFO workers up on site but there really isn’t much for FIFO families at home – families who are also living the unique FIFO lifestyle and coming across similar challenges with isolation, supporting kids, managing relationships and juggling jobs, to name but a few. So I created ‘The FIFO Family Project’ to bring our community together and I can’t wait to meet you all at an event really soon!
