About this event

  • 1 day 8 hours

Join us for two full days of content, knowledge-sharing and fun as we review and explore the technology and ideas emerging to support Australia’s efforts to remain competitive in energy exports.

The theme this year is centred around progress and future prospects – because both as a nation and a CRC we have made progress and its important to reflect on the successes and lessons learned. As the pathways towards cleaner models of operating become evident, it’s important that FEnEx CRC’s research focus be updated accordingly.

Along with some of Australia’s most forward-thinking technologists, academics and advocates, we are coming together to discuss how we plan to decarbonise some of our hard to abate industries whilst maintaining our highly-effective economic industries.

Conference Program

The conference program will feature a range of speakers presenting on the latest research, ideas, and project developments that support the challenge of energy decarbonisation in the transition to a cleaner world. The program offers the opportunity to learn about the latest policy initiatives, technological advances and societal shifts that are shaping the energy transition landscape.

Poster Forum

The project poster forum is an opportunity for attendees to explore the cutting-edge research projects being undertaken within the FEnEx CRC. The posters offer a chance for researchers to showcase their work and engage with fellow attendees in informal conversations. This year in response to previous requests, there will be a dedicated poster session with refreshments at the end of day 1. Additional engagement will be available during conference breaks.

3 Minute Thesis Competition

This PhD opportunity has become a cornerstone of the conference, revered by PhDs and loved by the audience.

The FEnEx CRC three-minute thesis (3MT) competition will run in conjunction with the FEnEx CRC Annual Conference.

The aim of the competition is for PhD students involved across all aspects of the FEnEx CRC to practice the effective dissemination of their research, and to communicate their ideas and results to the wider FEnEx CRC community, as well as to non-specialist audiences.

Entries will also feature on the FEnEx CRC website, providing an opportunity for PhD students to increase their research profile, and to highlight their work internationally.

Further details are available in the 3MT competition guidelines.

Audience participation is encouraged as we vote for the best 3MT - a great prize on offer for the most engaging student presentation. Last year's submissions are available here. (2024 submissions will be available soon).
