This course facilitated by Women's Safety Services SA will assist you to:

• Understand the purpose of assessing for risk in domestic and family violence

• Identify factors that indicate risk of serious harm or death in domestic and family violence

• Understand South Australia’s multi-agency response to risk – Family Safety Framework

• Engage people in conversations to assess risk

• Conduct a risk assessment

• Make a referral to Family Safety Meeting

Women’s Safety Services SA (WSSSA) is South Australia’s leading specialist in providing an integrated response to women and children experiencing domestic and family violence. As part of this work, we offer practice and skill-based training around recognising and responding to domestic and family violence.

Our training draws upon the latest domestic and family violence research and practice frameworks, and is suitable for social workers, employees in the public sector, community workers, students and people that work closely with children and families.

We believe domestic violence is everybody’s business and that all layers of society should continue to strive for its elimination. By taking part in our training, you will be upskilling yourself to better support women experiencing domestic and family violence within the scope of your professional practice.
