About this event

With stunning views of the lake, and inspiration gained from visiting the home of Sir William Dobell, you will explore sketching and painting methods to produce paintings of your own. Receive guidance at YOUR skill level, and learn ways to continue to develop your own practice.

BYO: water container for washing brushes; hand towel or rag.

BYO: snacks and lunch or visit the nearby shopping village.

Location: Begin your adventure at Dobell House at 10am. Enjoy a warm welcome and guided tour by one of the friendly volunteers. Continue your journey (a 5-10 min stroll or drive if you prefer) along the water’s edge to the cosy studio at Wangi Hub, where you will be guided through a lake & landscape painting workshop with local artist and illustrator Tallulah Cunningham.

Timing: 10am-2pm

Tickets:

$45 (plus booking fee)

Ticket includes:

  • Entry into Dobell House
  • Art materials: water-based paints, brushes and pencils.

*You are welcome to BYO art materials or use the materials provided: pencils, water-based paint and brushes.
This event is suitable for adults - absolute beginners to intermediate artists.

About the presenter:

Tallulah Cunningham’s background in Natural History illustration is vast, from the natural world to the fantastical, and her practice includes engaging in a wide spectrum of projects, locally and internationally.

This event is part of the 2024 Dobell Festival, hosted by Lake Macquarie City Council.
