The South West Healthcare health promotion team invite you to the launch of the Corangamite Shire Food Insecurity Investigation report

In 2023, the health promotion team at South West Healthcare consulted with the local community to hear their experiences buying and cooking food, and measured the cost of food in Corangamite. Our research shares the unique challenges residents face accessing food locally, and what support is needed in the community.

Please join us as we share our research findings and discuss ways to make it easier for people to access affordable healthy food, and to connect with one another. The cost of living crisis is hitting hard, and it’s time for us to act locally.

  • 43% of people in Corangamite have experienced food insecurity in the last 12 months
  • The standard Australian diet for a family of 4 would cost over $1,000 per fortnight in Corangamite.
