In this session we will examine detail on the three common mistakes that managers make when appraising staff.

Different Types of Performance Reviews

Participants will have a discussion on the 4 types of performance appraisals including, reviews; informally assessments; probationary evaluations and 360 degree feedback.

Participants will be able to explain how each method of appraissals measures employee productivity and provides feedback to the employees is important to the success of an organisation.

Setting Goals with SPIRIT

This is an interactive session where participants will be encouraged to develop goals and ambitious dreams by utilizing an acronym (basically).

We will review the SPIRIT framework so participants can create action plans for immediate objectives that yield results while also having vision boards for long-term plans and visions of success!

The Performance Management Cycle

Participants will learn the following in this session:For starters, they will delve into the two-stage process of performance management: appraisal framework development and expectation-setting;Next, they will get to know the use of basis of Achievable Results (BARs) and Key Result Areas (KRAs) as a tool to monitor performance.

Crafting a Performance Development Plan

In this session, you will work through creating a designed performance development plan.

You will learn how to create and manage plans that improve the productivity of your employees.

Feedback and Communication

In this session, players will acquire critical verbal skills as well as the tools to be equally facile as givers of feedback.

Enhancing Listening Skills

While they do so, they’ll also be continuing to develop their growing curiosity about the joys (and skills) of listening.


Strategies for Communication

Participants will receive tools to sharpen their verbal and interviewing skills.


They will learn what questions are tools for refining their probing and develop savvy nonverbal cues for exchanges!


Providing Constructive Feedback


Today’s session explores six characteristics of delivering feedback – why do we need to be good at giving feedback?


And finally, how can we use these concepts to communicate effectively in any situation, with short case studies throughout.

The Interview Process


In this session participants will learn about interviewing oneself.


They build confidence using hands on role .plays.


Role Play; Setting Goals


Participants will engage in a role play that is the first step of our evaluation process.

Then the instructor will provide feedback, before an open discussion to share learnings on goal setting!

Giving Feedback

This is a good exercise to allow practice in giving feedback while participants gain an understanding of where performance appraisals are in the stages of the appraisal process.

By the end of the session, participants will have developed their skills through some role plays in a safe and supportive environment!

Coaching Techniques

participants will learn many efficient ways about coaching in this performing appraisal process through each stage in this lesson.

Role playing is part of their orginal skills for coaching their peers.

Finally, participants will conclude the performance appraisal experience by participating in an interview simulation that is used for corrective feedback.

Termination Procedures

Give participants the chance to practise personnel termination in this session.

By the end of it, they will know exactly what to do and have had the chance to apply their enhancements through spontaneous role play.

Reviewing Pre Assignments

They will be able to contemplate on their pre-assignment and their areas of success, as well as develop an action plan for how to get there.

Performance Management Checklists

At the end of the workshop, participants will review their performance management skills.

Equipped with checklists, to ensure success the next time around.

Wrapping Up the Workshop

After finishing the course, participants will understand (not know) and be able to deliver this comprehension to their team.

The presenter asks students to ask questions that would help them in piecing the information together. She also prompts them to devise a plan, so they know what to deliver at the end.
