There are no affordable rentals. Bills, food, and medicines are getting more expensive. Millions of people live in poverty: job-seekers, students, low-income workers, pensioners, and more.
People are in crisis. We are struggling to keep a roof over our heads and put food on the table. But the last Federal Budget gave us only crumbs.
Why is there always money for tax breaks for property investors, subsidies for the fossil fuel industry, and tax cuts for the wealthy, but not for lifting people out of poverty, or making housing and other essentials more affordable?
How can we fight for what our community truly needs, like a raise to Centrelink payments, tens of thousands of extra public homes, and cheaper health treatments?
