About this event

  • 3 hours

The area now known as Clifton Hill and in particular Quarries Park on Ramsden Street provided much of the bluestone for Melbourne’s lanes from the late 1840s. On the walk, we will view intact contractor houses, houses of early Melbourne politicians, trade unionists, private schools, former leather and boot factories and the imposing Italianate former Royal Hotel.

The tour will be led by history enthusiast and accredited professional tour guide Isabel Simpson.

*Meet at the corner of Berry and Spensley Streets, Clifton Hill at 9:45am for a 10:00am start.
