Tom Hazell’s commitment to conservation exemplifies the spirit of environmental stewardship, a central tenet of permaculture.
Having established Manly Lagoon Nolan Reserve Bush Care Group who meet weekly, Tom and the group of volunteers have turned a bare area into a lush, diverse habitat that has significantly improved the lagoon and its banks. The area has undergone extensive restoration thanks to Tom and dedicated volunteers working alongside Council. It now contains important habitat for local native fauna such as frogs and reptiles along with estuarine shorebirds.
Come along and hear all about Tom, and a group of dedicated volunteers, work towards seeing the health of the Manly Lagoon and its natural surrounds protected, rehabilitated, and its environmental and aesthetic values preserved into the future. Work that benefits not only the local wildlife but the entire community!
