About this event

Have you ever been to a gallery and wondered if any of the art you saw was painted by a woman? Or, have you just assumed they were all done by men. If you thought the latter, guess what, you would be correct. The sad truth is 90% of art galleries gloabally still predominately show male artists, hence why the general public usually can't name more than 2 women from art history.

"What?!!" You say. "It's the 21st century!" Believe me, I understand your shock. The truth is though, if you aren't in the art history community you are likely in the demographic who can't name 2.

BUT! Say you want to be at a party and sound sophicticated amongst peers that you can at least name 5 famous women who've made it in the art industry. Congratualtions you've found the right event! 👌

Join artist and art speaker, Brittany from Britt's Studio, to present to you with passion, research and humour, the facts, fiction, women, history and what the art industry is doing about women and art representation today. The presentation will go for approximately an 1 and 30 minutes. There may be time at the end for questions about the artists I discuss, but alas, if not, you can always shoot me a message through Britt's Studio after. Make sure to grab a cuppa and a snack before you join the session, can't wait to see you all there!
