About this event

The Calile is delighted to present a behind the scenes glimpse and discussion of Iris van Herpen: Sculpting the Senses – an in-conversation between Edwina McCann, Editorial Director and Publisher News Prestige and Conde Nast Titles Australia and Nina Miall, Curator, International Art, QAGOMA prior to its opening on June 29.

Described as an immersive, sensory exploration of van Herpen's practice – the exhibition will showcase close to 100 haute couture garments presented alongside contemporary artworks, natural history specimens and cultural artefacts from which the designer draws inspiration.

Leaning more towards art than fashion, van Herpen's designs have graced the shoulders of some of the most powerfully creative women of our time, including Beyonce, Björk, Cate Blanchett, Lady Gaga and Tilda Swinton.

Guests will hear firsthand about the exhibition and thethe designer,. We are excited to present this conversation and invite you to join the discussion.

Tickets are free however registration is essential. Please note that Calile Culture events are quite popular, so if you do register to attend but are unable to make it, please be kind and release your spot to another keen cultural event attendee.
