This seminar on Brain Care in NICU will provide information on how Westmead Hospital NICU uses evidence-based care to prevent brain injury and promote brain development for babies, including our current research projects.

This workshop will run on

Thursday 13th June

Registration: 08:30am - 09:00am

Seminar commences at 09:00am sharp

You will hear presentations on:

  • Infant brain development - Threats to brain development and influences on developmental outcome
  • Neuro-assessment - MRI, cranial ultrasound, General Movements Assessment
  • Neuro-Monitoring - Near Infrared Spectrometry, aEEG
  • Antenatal neuroprotection - Antenatal steroids, delayed cord clamping
  • Perinatal neuroprotection - Golden hour and ePREM guideline, therapeutic hypothermia, preventing illness

What is the refund policy?

A full refund may be given only in the following circumstances:

  • Hospital admission
  • Cancellation request 3 weeks prior to the seminar commencement date

If less than three weeks’ notice - a fee of $30.00 will be charged.

NO REFUND will be given for cancellation requests less than three days before the seminar commences.
