Birds, Bees, Bugs, All Livings things .... this workshop will explore the importance of diverse biological environments and habitats and provide educators with hands -on ways to embed biodiversity awareness into the day to day of early years settings. This workshop with link to 'citizen science' and action based projects in local WA communities thus giving children agency to make a difference by protecting and conserving biologically diverse environments.

Type of event and expectations

Adult learning space- guests are requested to turn phones to silent, where possible, remain seated for the duration of the event, be respectful to facilitator and attendees alike and exit discreetly when needed. This event is unlikely to be suitable for children to attend.

Accessibility

Sitting ~2 hours with opportunity to move around.

Accessible parking is available at front of Centre, rooms are located on multiple levels via a ramp and toilets are available within the venue. For specific access requirements please feel free to call or email the centre at (08)9364 0191 or piney.lakes@melville.wa.gov.au


Directions to centre

Please consider using public transportation. A bus stop, just a 2-minute walk away, is conveniently located near the Centre and services multiple routes.

The Centre is located at 555 Leach Highway, Winthrop in the Piney Lakes reserve. To reach us, if heading westbound, take the first left after Murdoch Drive on Leach Highway. If coming from the Fremantle area, continue on Leach Hwy across Murdoch Drive and use the designated U-turn just after the lights to move to the westbound lanes. Go back through the lights at Murdoch Drive and take the first left. Please park in the signed public carpark.
