Join us for the NTIBN Barefoot Business: Education Connect event, where we will be facilitating connections between our members and leaders from local schools.

This networking event aims to support the implementation of the On-Country Learning Measure as part of the Better, Safer Future for Central Australia Plan.

Date and Time: May 2nd, 4:30pm -6:00pm | Location: NTIBN Business Hub, Alice Springs Desert Knowledge Precinct.

The purpose of this event is to bring together principals and managers from local and remote schools with our Aboriginal Business members.

During the event, attendees will have the chance to engage with leaders from the Department of Education NT, share their business capabilities, and explore potential opportunities for collaboration and procurement.

Ou aim is to foster collaboration and partnership between our local Aboriginal business members and schools in the Central Region, to support the implementation of initiatives outlined in the On-Country Learning Measure, which include:


Intensive Literacy and Numeracy Support: Providing additional resources to support literacy and numeracy development among students.

Flexible Learning for Secondary Students: Offering flexible learning options that align with local industries and provide relevant skills for employment.

Increased Employment of Local Aboriginal Staff: Supporting cultural wellbeing, music, art, language, and identity within schools by employing local Aboriginal staff.

Targeted Engagement and Attendance Initiatives: Implementing culturally responsive initiatives to improve student engagement and attendance.

On-Country Learning Initiatives: Creating opportunities for two-way learning and incorporating Indigenous language and culture into the curriculum.

Increased Allied Health Services: Delivering universal and targeted health services to support student inclusion and wellbeing.
