AVITH in Context: Mental Health

This webinar will explore the complexity of adolescent violence in the home within the context of mental health. The presentation will give an overview of a scoping project commission by Equity Trustees to explore current program within Victoria, conduct a codesign workshop and develop a broader framework to address this issue.

The presentation will conclude with an overview of the Youth Forensic service offered in Victoria and the supports that clinician can access with these complex young people.

About the speaker

Dr Michelle Kehoe, Evaluation and Research Officer, Child and Youth Mental Health Services.

Dr Michelle Kehoe is an Evaluation and Research Development Officer with Alfred Health (headspace and the Child and Youth Mental Health Service) in South-East Melbourne. She is also a psychology lecturer in the Occupational Therapy Department at Monash University. Michelle completed her PhD in 2018 examining social and emotional skills in children and young people. She has worked in research for over 15 years, primarily developing and conducting research projects on mental health programs for both adults and young people. She has a keen interest in evidence-based interventions that improve outcomes for those with mental health issues, the involvement of lived-experience in design and development of mental health programs for young people. Michelle has published in national and international peer-reviewed journals and has presented at numerous national and international conferences.
