Join Kite Therapy for the second part of our two-part virtual seminar on how to understand and support children with challenging behaviours in early childcare and education settings.

This session will be led by Zachary Marks. Zach has extensive experience in implementing positive support plans for children, including in early education settings - Add info from Zach


As a recap, during the first session, we covered:

  • Understanding what drives challenging behaviour in young children, for example, avoiding demands, transitions throughout the day and so on
  • What tools can you use to understand an individual child’s behaviour, including tools to identify what is driving a challenging behaviour.
  • How to how to collect data as a team, to understand the function of the behaviour
  • Strategies to promote and maintain wellbeing of your team

During the second session you will learn:

  • How to embed practical strategies to support positive behaviour in the classroom
  • How to develop positive behaviour support plans for individual children
  • Approaches for collaborating with families, and specialists
  • How to create a more inclusive setting for all children

Following the event, we will share downloadable resources, including data collection sheets and positive behaviour templates via email.

Your facilitators

This session will be led by Zachary Mark and Rachelle Dunstan.

Zach is passionate about supporting people with disabilities and complex needs to learn, grow and live their best lives. He believes in taking a strengths-based approach that supports children to harness their own uniqueness, and in supporting parents to be parents first. Zach has a Bachelor in Psychology, and a Masters of Allied Health Sciences, in Applied Behaviour Analysis, and experiencing working in educational environments including Kinder, Primary, Secondary and University.

He has also worked within the NDIS positive behaviour support framework, and as a Support Coordinator. His breadth of experience gives him a unique perspective, allowing him to see the long term scope and understand how small changes now can lead to huge gains in the future. Zach is also pursuing additional qualifications as a Mental Health Counsellor in his free time.


Rachelle Dunstan is one of the founders of Kite Therapy, and has extensive experience working in the disability ecosystem. Prior to founding Kite, Rachelle has worked and the NDIA, and led the Navigator team at Hireup, a free advocacy service to help families build capacity and confidence to navigate the NDIS.
