About this event

  • 2 hours

Since 2021 Australia China Business Council South Australia has been leading ACBC's national "Green Economy" program to improve understanding within the Australian business community of the new economic opportunties presented by China's green, low-carbon, "high-quality" economic growth agenda.

SA's Sister Province Shandong Province is a pioneering zone for this activity (山东省绿色低碳行动计划2025) and in 2023 ACBC SA began liaising with strategic partners in Shandong to raise awareness of our interest in helping to accelerate this transition through collaboration with South Australia on:

  • Industrial decarbonisation
  • Smart Agriculture
  • Research commercialisation and innovation

Following the Premier, Hon Peter Malinauskus's visit to China in September 2023, ACBC SA and China Council for the Promotion of Trade & Investment Shandong (CCPIT) curated the inaugural Green Economy Roundtable briefing for the Governor's recent delegation in April.

ACBC SA, in cooperation with the Department of Premier & Cabinet, Department for Trade & Invesmtent, Departmenr for Mininig and Enegy, Office for Hydrogen in SA and PIRSA, has created a cross-border "Green Economy Accelerator" platform to coordinate the collective efforts to bring these new opportutnies to market.

Join us in the morning of Monday May 27th, followed by a light lunch for networking, as we discuss these three collaboration streams.

Hear from participants in SA-Shandong Green Economy:

  • New world-leading Green Steel pilot
  • New "high-quality" Wine & Grain trade opportunities
  • Blue Economy research collaborations
  • AgTech cooperation zones - Royal Adelaide Show

This is a milestone opportunty for South Australia to capitalise on our unique natural strengths and deep Shandong relationhsip the within the broader Australia-China Green Economy cooperation program.
