Participation in the CoADFM program is open to all Defence resident family children aged 18 years and under of current serving full time (SERCAT 6/7 and SERVOP C) ADF members.

The Child of the ADF Medallion is a small but important way of recognising the children who go through the emotional, and at times, difficult experience of having a loved one serve in the ADF.

The Child of the ADF Medallion (CoADFM) will be presented to children who have shown resilience and growth in managing the challenges of the ADF lifestyle who have experienced one or more of the following;

• Managing a recent relocation

• Connecting to a new community following relocation

• Managing a lengthy absence or frequent absences of the ADF family member due to service requirements

• Absence of ADF member due to short notice posting, deployment or exercise

• Difficult Family situation
