Ecstatic dance is a freeform dance style set to world and electronic music.

Designed to move through an emotional landscape, this dance container allows you to choose your involvement with movement, feeling and release.

Held seasonally, at Zen Space Samford, After Dark allows for regular sisterhood connection and witnessing.

No dance experience necessary. No performance necessary. Low impact or self guided movement is encouraged.

Ecstatic Dance is a freeform dance experience with no set dance moves.

Guided by an electronic and world music set list, your facilitator, Ignaria, will give gentle prompts on how to best ride the wave of sound. This is a safe space to move your body, exercise and release any trapped emotions or tension in your body.

Ecstatic dance is a high vibe, drug and alcohol free environment. There are a few guidelines to ensure everybody's safety and quality experience:

  • No talking on the dance floor
  • No shoes
  • Substance free
  • Eyes open and checking your surroundings
  • Check for 'consent' before dancing with another. Check for body language cues for 'yes' or 'no'

This dance experience welcomes all ages to witness and take part in ecstatic dance. It is fully acknowledged that little dancers might need to use the chill out yurt in the back corner or require their adults help. All experiences are welcome and check with Ignaria or support angels who help out if you need anything.
