ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Gary Crew is the 2024 Australian nominee for the prestigious Hans Christian Andersen Medal and has published over 80 novels and illustrated books internationally. He has won the Children's Book Council of Australia's Book of the Year four times, the New South Wales and Victorian Premier’s Awards, the American Children’s Book of Distinction, The Aurealis Award for Speculative Fiction, the Wilderness Society’s Award for Environmental Writing, and the Royal Geographic Society Whitley Award. He has also been twice short-listed for the Edgar Allan Poe Mystery Fiction Award in the USA and won the Ned Kelly Award for Crime Writing in Australia. Gary is an Emeritus Professor of Creative Writing at the University of the Sunshine Coast and has three children and nine grandchildren. He also loves dogs, especially Jack Russell Terriers.
