A Day of Professional Learning in Languages is available to teachers of all sectors and is best suited to secondary language teachers. The day will comprise of two sessions.
SESSION 1: Assessment and task design in Languages
This NESA-accredited course looks at how to create rich, relevant and real-world tasks that engage students and drive the learning process. Participants will learn:
· how to align task ideas with syllabus content
· how to dissect tasks to establish marking criteria
· the value of rubrics and how to create them
· how to provide feedback that sticks
SESSION 2: Leveraging AI for resource creation in Languages
This workshop has been a game-changer for teachers keen to find out how AI can be of use to them in their day-to-day teaching. Participants will learn how to create bespoke:
· stimulus texts: written, audio, audio/visual
· teaching and learning resources: comprehension activities, grammar worksheets, quizzes, games
· assessment materials: tasks, marking criteria, rubrics, samples, feedback generation
· administrative documentation: report comments, course descriptions, newsletter articles
