About this event

  • 3 hours

Bird & Bay Day is being run as part of Bunyas to Border, a project to create a climate corridor to help wildlife adapt and communities build resilience to climate change led by the Lockyer Upland's Catchment Inc (LUCI) with support from the Great Eastern Ranges and International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW).

The event is targeted to landholders, the interested public, local communities and wildlife enthusiasts.

The day will begin with an optional bird walk at 8am followed by an array of talks from experts on topics such as owls on farms for rodent control, woodland birds and their role, the importance of Grey-headed Flying Fox, current conservation efforts and what you can do to help.

There will be information stalls of interest to both the public and local landholders, many represented by local bird and bat groups, and community groups.

There will be conservation related items for sale such as native pants and field guides.

Morning tea included, please send any dietary requirements to justine@lockyeruplandscatchmentsinc.org.au at least 5 days prior.

The event is being held at Murphys Creek Community Centre with the morning bird walk meeting point in the venue's car park.

Talks will begin at 9am. Agenda below.
