Postpone and reschedule your event

If you have to postpone or reschedule your event, make sure to eblink{let your attendees know=>https://www.eventbrite.com.au/support/articleredirect?anum=3327} first. Then, update your date and ticket settings. Postponed and rescheduled events policy

If you need to postpone or reschedule your event, make sure to respect eblink{our policy terms=>https://www.eventbrite.com.au/support/articleredirect?anum=8480}.

1. Difference between postponed and rescheduled

• A postponed event: still has the original event date entered and the new date is undecided. • A rescheduled event: has a new date decided and entered on the event.

2. Requirements for rescheduling and postponing your event

• Update the date of the event within 30 days if possible. If this isn't possible, communicate your plans early and clearly with attendees to avoid confusion. Keep in mind that attendees are usually inclined to request a refund when it takes longer to reschedule. • For the best attendee experience, the new date should be within 1 year of the original date.

Email your attendees

Send an email to your attendees through Eventbrite to let them know the event is postponed. This is the easiest way to contact them and makes for the best attendee experience.

1. Go to your Event Dashboard

Go to "eblink{Manage events=>https://www.eventbrite.com.au/myevents target=_blank}" in your account. Then, select your event.

2. Go to “Emails to attendees” (under “Manage attendees”)

3. Select “Create new attendee email”

4. Write and send an email

In your email, make sure to let attendees know: • How eblink{attendees can request a refund=>https://www.eventbrite.com.au/support/articleredirect?anum=3207}. • Your new date. If you don't have a date, let them know when you plan on announcing the new date. • Who attendees can contact for further questions. Also double check the reply-to email to make sure replies go to the right place. Set a new date (even if you’re not sure of the exact date)

Even if you don't have a new date planned, make sure to move back the date of your event. You can hide this date from the public until you know more.

1. Go to your Event Dashboard

2. Go to “Basic info”

3. Set your new date and save your changes

If you are not sure of your new date, you can set a date further in the future and hide it from the public. In the “Advanced settings”, un-check the options to show your event start and end time. When you have a set new date, come back to this page, change the date again, and check the options to show your start and end date.

4. Optional: Change your event status to “Postponed”

5. Optional: Update your ticket settings

If you need to take your tickets off sale, or make sure they’ll continue to be on sale, go to your “Tickets” page. Then, select your ticket type. Finally, set the new start and end date and save your changes.
