Friday: 9am - 5pm
Onkaparinga Youth provides programs and activities for young people aged 8–25 years throughout the Onkaparinga region with a particular focus on recreation, arts, music and leadership/capacity building. Programs are offered outside of school hours, weekends and during school holidays.
Onkaparinga Youth supports young people to become actively involved in their communities by providing opportunities for fun, learning and personal growth.
We provide opportunities to meet new people, share ideas and find things to do, such as getting involved in events, joining a committee or participating in one of our many interesting programs. This is through our three youth facilities or at many other locations such as community centres, skate parks, libraries, halls, schools, local parks and beaches.
Young people can also become involved by joining one of our reference groups at one of the facilities to help guide the development of activities and programs.
CHRISTIE DOWNS YOUTH CENTRE IS NOW 'WARDLI'
This name was chosen because the Christie Downs and Christies Beach area were the traditional places for seasonal residence of Kaurna people. Christie Downs is known to be where the Kaurna people constructed structures known as ‘Wardli’, small shelters made of branches. The new name ‘Wardli Youth Centre’ is to acknowledge the traditional owners of the land and connect to the aim of the centre which is to provide a shelter for young people to attend and connect with their peers and learn skills in a place of safety.
