Victorian Environment Friends Network

The Victorian Environment Friends Network is the umbrella organisation for 'Friends of' groups across Victoria. The Friends groups are volunteers who protect, maintain and improve public places of environmental significance, including reserve, national parks, waterways among other places, or indigenous species, especially endangered or threatened species. Friends groups draft management plans, week, mulch, plant and weed again, as well as putting in tracks and keeping tracks clear among many other activiies. The Friends are the critical ingredient in the health of our green public places The Network facilitates the work of Friends. We maintain a database of Friends, connect Friends, run workshops and networking events, promote the work of Friends groups in the media, run our own social media, issue a regular newsletter, among many other activiites. We promote the work of Friends to government and statutory agencies, and lobby on behalf of Friends groups.
