Victoria Legal Aid - Loddon Campaspe Office

Victoria Legal Aid is an organisation that helps Victorian people with their legal problems. These legal problems can relate to family breakdown, child protection, family violence, criminal matters, social security, mental health, discrimination, guardianship and administration, fines, immigration, tenancy and debt. Our clients are often people who are socially and economically disadvantaged, people with a disability or mental illness, children, the elderly, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and those who live in remote areas.

Victoria Legal Aid provides free legal information and education to all Victorians, with a focus on prevention and early resolution of legal problems. We prioritise more intensive legal services such as legal advice and representation for people who meet eligibility criteria, based on their financial situation, the nature and seriousness of their problem and their individual circumstances. We also provide legal education to help build knowledge in the community about legal rights and responsibilities. We also produce information to help people once they are in the legal system, and maintain a range of legal tools that can be used by teachers and other workers. Our focus is on early intervention to prevent legal problems from arising or escalating.

We often collaborate with other organisations across Victoria and nationally on legal education projects to benefit particular groups or to address specific legal issues.
