Did you know that the first road built in Victoria was on Philip Island? Almost two centuries ago by European settlers.  

For over 100 years the Roads Corporation, better known as VicRoads, has connected Victoria by building and maintaining the road network.

Today we work in partnership with other government agencies, local governments and private sector to provide road, registration and licensing services throughout Victoria.

Our purpose is to deliver social, economic and environmental benefits to communities across Victoria by managing 23,000kms of roads spanning over 80,000 hectares. 

Additionally, we licence 3.7 million drivers and register 4.9 million vehicles by processing more than 22 million transactions a year.

Our vision is to make lives better for road users through journeys that are safe, reliable, efficient and sustainable.

With over 2,700 staff across 4 metro offices, 7 regional offices, 9 project offices and 41 customers service centres we’re as diverse as the community we serve.
