Underground Music Events

Underground Music Events [UME] is the production and promotional entity behind House music club night events and House music related Podcasts. UME's most recent event involvments include two UP FOR IT!  events & ‘DeLiCiOuS-Pure Sexy House Gathering’ have all been ticket sell out a week prior to the event out and a hugely successful night.

The UME crew were influential players in the development of Australia’s underground house music and club scene from 1990 to 2003 with involvement in DJing, producing, promoting, and touring international Djs nationally as Eternal Promotions.

Early underground warehouse events from 1989 to 1995 included ‘Drama’ ‘Deep Joy’ ‘Eternity’ and M25’s to name but a few. As the popularity of electronic dance music in the warehouse party scene became harder edge techno in genre the UME crew set up ‘Bounce’ a Sunday night House music orientated club night in a Sydney Kings Cross live band venue providing a welcome and more stylish respite from the techno onslaught.

Bounce soon became a Sunday night must go to club night for discerning House music lovers and eventually paved the way for the legendary Saturday night club night ‘DeLiCiOuS’, Thursdays nights ‘High Times’ and Sunday long weekends classics and anthems nights UP FOR IT!

Over the five years DeLiCiOuS was in operation the club helped launch a number of local DJ careers, produced 3 compilation CDs and introduced us to many underground House tunes we now think of as ‘anthems’. In addition, DeLiCiOuS brought over some of the world’s finest House DJ Producers: Danny Rampling, Terry Farley, Pete Heller, Rob Tissera, Ashley Beedle, Sure is Pure - Kelvin Andrews, Mark Lovedup, Claude Young Jr, and Nicky Holloway to name a few.

All of this firmly established DeLiCiOuS as Sydney’s premier house music club night, helping put Sydney on the map as one of the world’s premier clubbing destinations famous for its pure sexy house sound, delivering upfront house music to a crowd that couldn’t get enough - where the music you liked was more important than who you were, or what you wore.

After a 17 year break the original DeLiCi0uS crew reunited and on 23/03/2018 at the Civic Underground, Sydney presented a sell out ticketed event ‘Delicious – Pure Sexy House Gathering’. Podcasts related to the event can be found @ https://www.mixcloud.com/Underground_Music_Events/ .
