Toowoomba Regional Council is the local government for the Toowoomba region, an area of approximately 13,000km2 that incorporates the city of Toowoomba and surrounding townships. Toowoomba is situated 125km inland of Queensland’s state capital Brisbane, crowning the edge of the Great Dividing Range 700m above sea level. It is Australia’s second largest inland city and 17th largest overall. Toowoomba is part of South East Queensland, a dynamic region that generates one fifth of Australia’s economic growth and is home to one in seven Australians.
Toowoomba Regional Council employees approximately 1,600 staff and has an annual budget of approximately $500 million.
