Renee Knapp is an Independent Consultant who helps Communities and Passionate Individuals improve mental health outcomes across their loal community.
She has a created a 4 Stage Grass Roots, Proven framework for improvement and clear actionable steps that can be utilised to create a cross-sector or community approach that leads to true mental health reform in rural communities.
She has over 25 years experience in Education and is the Chair and founder of a highly successful Community Based Mental Health Action Team in rural Western Australia that has acquired over $750 000 worth of funding for mental health initiatives. Renee is a passionate advocate for utilising a community approach to mental health by working collaboratively across government and private sectors to make real change happen for both our youth and the wider community through targeted action planning and intentional collaboration.
She assists communities to develop Community Wellbeing Plans and get access to essential funding to bring these plans to life. This approach is being shared with communities in the area and across Australia as a model of success.
She also supports passionate individuals who want to make a difference (regardless of their background or qualification) to learn the skills needed to apply this in their own community or local area.
Renee’s ongoing work in improving mental health outcomes has seen her appointed as an Ambassador for the Australian & New Zealand Mental Health Association and as a winner in the 2022 WA Local Legend Community Achievement awards. She was also a finalist in the 2021 ABC WA Spirit of Volunteering awards and various Education Awards.
