The Nutty Baker - Nina Siljanovic

In 2012, Nina returned to her home town of Sydney after years of travel and opportunities.  She lived in Italy, Eastern Europe and the UK.  By day, she pursued a career in an investment bank.  In her free time, she explored cultures, languages, cuisines.

Whilst pondering her next career move, she made some Amaretti for a group of friends using a recipe she had been taught whilst living in Italy.  The reactions were above and beyond anything she had expected.  Could this be it? It was almost too obvious - doing something she loved and seemed to have a natural talent for. 

From here, she trained as a Patissiere at Sydney Institute TAFE and started to supply her signature Amaretti to a few local cafes.  She has grown her business organically, taking advantage of opportunities that have come her way.

Now busy with catering, cooking classes, birthday cakes and supplying more cafes, The Nutty Baker works from a commercial kitchen at The Imperial Hotel, Paddington, as part of their Business Hub initiative.  She continues to work independently, but will work in collaboration with The Imperial to cater in house events.

From Banking to Baking, or so the saying goes...
