Sydney Musculoskeletal, Bone & Joint Health Alliance

The Sydney Musculoskeletal, Bone & Joint Health Alliance (SYDMSK) was formed in 2017 as a multidisciplinary initiative to expand research strength in Musculoskeletal Health across the University and affiliated institutions and conduct highly translational research with the Local Health Districts and Primary Health Networks in collaboration with Sydney Health Partners. Our membership is drawn from four faculties, nine research institutes and four Local Health Districts.

The Sydney Musculoskeletal, Bone & Joint Health Alliance (SYDMSK) brings together world-leading researchers and opinion-leaders in the field, well-positioned to create a collaborative interdisciplinary environment of research and education excellence. Our mission is to discover new methods to prevent, manage and cure disabling musculoskeletal conditions such as osteoarthritis, osteoporosis and back pain; together with other bone and joint conditions by building capacity, leadership and delivering excellence in multidisciplinary, collaborative research.

We now have over 420 members. By developing a virtual infrastructure that eliminates barriers for collaboration between researchers and clinicians, SydMSK has built an environment for MSK health research covering all spectrums of health investigation from basic science and laboratory-based research to translational clinical research.
