School Emergency Planning for Flood in the Hawkesbury-Nepean Valley
The Hawkesbury-Nepean Valley is prone to rapid and deep flooding, with a long history of dangerous and damaging floods.
Approximately 40 schools in the Hawkesbury-Nepean Valley are at risk of major flooding.
Recognising this significant risk, and to support schools to get ready for flood, Infrastructure NSW is inviting schools to two unique events with flood experts and emergency management leaders.
Event 1: Flood Risk Briefing will outline your school’s flood risk and the local flood emergency response.
Event 2: Emergency Plan ‘Health-Check’ Workshop will focus on key aspects of best-practice emergency planning for flood, and allow you to practice your plan against realistic flood scenarios in a friendly, collaborative environment.
Select one Flood Risk Briefing date plus one Emergency Plan Health-Check Workshop date from the events listed below.
Schools should nominate staff to attend both a forum and a workshop to realise the full benefits of this Get Ready for Flood program.
These events are FREE. Schools can nominate up to three staff to attend each event.
