Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability

The Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability was established on 4 April 2019 by the Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retired).

 

The Honourable Ronald Sackville AO QC, Ms Barbara Bennett PSM, Dr Rhonda Galbally AC, Ms Andrea Mason OAM, Alastair McEwin AM, and The Honourable John Ryan AM have been appointed as Royal Commissioners.

 

The Letters Patent for the Royal Commission formally appoint the Royal Commissioners and outline the Commission’s terms of reference.

 

The Commissioners are required to provide an interim report by 30 October 2020, and a final report by 29 April 2022.
