Primary Ethics

Primary Ethics is an independent not-for-profit organisation which gives communities the resources to deliver free education in ethics to students in their local schools.

Primary Ethics has developed an engaging, age-appropriate, interconnected curriculum that spans the primary years from kindergarten to year 6. We recruit and train volunteers from the community to deliver the classes using the approved lesson materials.

Primary Ethics currently delivers classes to 36,500 students in 450 schools across Greater Sydney and beyond with the help of 2500 committed and generous volunteers. Their efforts provide the opportunity to help children develop a life-long capacity to identify and make well-reasoned decisions about ethical issues.

Our model, in which we equip communities to teach ethical decision-making skills to their children, has a positive net social impact, fostering cross generational connection, community engagement, and skill development for both students who take the classes and volunteers who deliver them.

We are an inclusive organisation, welcoming the involvement of anyone with an interest and commitment to children's education.

Primary Ethics is an independent not-for-profit organisation approved for deductible gift recipient status and is the sole approved provider of ethics classes.

To support children to develop skills in ethical reasoning, critical thinking and respectful discussion by enabling community volunteers to deliver ethics classes in public primary schools.
