Platinum:A LEED Consortium

It is widely accepted that buildings are responsible for one-third of the world's greenhouse gas emissions, consume large amounts of energy, water and material resources while producing waste during construction and operations. In order to minimize a building's environmental impact green building rating systems were developed globally as at tool for building industry professionals to provide guidance and assess performance.

LEED, which is an acronym for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is a 3rd party green building rating system that was created by the United States Green Building Council. Though established in the US, it is internationally recognized rating system and over 50% of LEED Certified building area is located outside of the United States.

In Hong Kong alone there are over 42 LEED certified projects with another 90 registered and more than 600 LEED Accredited Professionals. In order to support this growing trend Platinum, a consortium for LEED Professionals in Hong Kong, was established. Platinum is recognized by the USGBC as being the "voice" of LEED Professionals’s in Hong Kong,
