Pearl Beach Progress Association
The Pearl Beach Progress Association was formed in 1929 by some of the original residents of Pearl Beach who began meeting to improve services to the Village. This led to the building of the Memorial Hall which is the centre for many activities within Pearl Beach including Community Groups, Exercise Classes, Meetings and Events which add to the general amenity of the village.
The Arboretum (https://www.pearlbeacharboretum.org.au/) was established in 1976 as a natural botanic garden. It is a sanctuary for rare and threatened plant species in the south western corner of Pearl Beach.
Both groups have many volunteers from the community who dedicate a significant amount of their time to the upkeep of both the hall and the Arboretum. The Progress Association also raises much needed funds through the many community activities such as Concerts in the hall, Easter and Summer Book sales, Garage sales, the Food and Wine Fair, Community Lunches and Dinners and many more. The Arboretum hosts Concerts, Art Fairs and PBEAT (an ephemeral art exhibition held bi-annually) as well as other cultural activities.
