Opus30 is an exciting new gallery and performance venue, a new chapter for the director Prue Venables to use a historic chapel in Central Victoria as a place to celebrate and recognise accomplished craftspeople, artists and musicians.
Originally a Primitive Methodist chapel on Winters Flat, Castlemaine, this unique building was open to all for a myriad of community purposes, from a place of worship to a ballet school and venue for yoga classes. After careful restoration and thoughtful landscaping this beautiful minimalist historic building is open to all again hosting the next chapter as Opus30, a gallery and concert venue inviting the public to experience fine accomplishment, expression, skill and integrity within the field of contemporary Australian and International arts with a focus on metalwork, jewellery, ceramics, visual art and music.
Prue Venables has a long established career as maker, educator and curators in Australia and overseas. In a collaboration of knowledge and experience seeking to present beautiful work and exceptional music.
