Nicole Lawder MLA, Member for Brindabella

Nicole was elected to the ACT Legislative Assembly as the Member for Brindabella in June 2013. She is Shadow Minister for Environment, Family and Community Services, and Housing.

Prior to entering the Assembly, Nicole worked in a range of private, public and third sector organisations, including tax, workplace relations, defence, Medicare, a NASA space tracking station, Deloitte Consulting and as CEO of national peak bodies in the areas of homelessness and disability.

She has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the Australian National University and a Master of Business from Swinburne University.

Previous committee and Board positions include Member of the National People with Disability and Carer Council 2008-13, Member of the ACMA Consumer Consultative Forum 2009-13, National Shelter Council 2010-13, Aussie Deaf Kids Board, 2008-10, Tuggeranong Football Club Board (2011).

Her community activities include Volunteer member of the Community Fire Unit Fadden, Volunteer at Ronald McDonald House Canberra.

Nicole came to Canberra in 1988 and has lived in Tuggeranong ever since. She is married with children, step children and grandchildren.
